Face Value

Face Value

When I was younger my hair was bone straight, and my complexion near perfect. The tone of my skin was glowing and healthy.  I think having kids and getting 6 hours of interrupted sleep per night for the last 5 years has changed things. Thanks to pregnancy hormones I now have a significant wave to my hair, I get more blemishes, and my skin often looks a little dry and tired. I assign a lot of value to what I put inside my body, what kind of shoes I wear, what cleaning products I use. I don't always put as much value on my skincare. I have a regimen I follow, but it does not involve getting facials, seeing a dermatologist or investing in expensive products.  I've been washing my face with a mild soap and applying a tinted spf moisturizer for the day and removing make up and applying a heavier night time moisturizer at night for as long as I can remember.

Piece Of Work

I did some much needed housekeeping on the site today.  I've finally logged enough entries to really categorize things.  It's been seven months since my first post, I've been through two names and taken about ten thousand pictures. Apartment Therapy is tallying the votes for the best design + DIY blogs of 2012.  I love these lists because I am constantly looking for new inspiration and projects and there are a lot of really smart small/new blogs on the list of nominees.  Poppy Haus made the list yesterday. Getting the word out that you even exist is a major challenge for a new blog, and AT has a vast readership. Just last night I got a little shout out on Maxwell's Daily Finds! If you like Poppy Haus you can cast your vote here: BEST DIY BLOG.

What was I waiting for?

Note Worthy

Note Worthy

What do you do with your pretty calendar when the year is over?  It seems a shame to toss it out.  Today I got out the old paper cutter and made some note cards from last year's Snow & Graham calendar. Thanks to the rather large envelope collection I amassed a few years ago while making wedding invitations I was able to create 20 note cards. Way to upcycle and declutter! I can't wait for next year.  Who knows what will come of my Jonathan Adler travel posters...
