Pretty Picture Books
/I love imaginative and beautifully illustrated children's books. I'm going to embark on a new adventure here on Poppy Haus, an occasional series where I dive into books. My founding-partner at Jasper Hearts Wren is expecting, and when I saw this series of board books I thought of her, because like me, she is a sucker for simple, modern children's design.
Colors and Opposites are part of the TouchThinkLearn series by Xavier Deneux. The pages are die-cut shapes on the left side, and scooped on the right, creating a sturdy, three-dimensional, tactile experience for pint-sized readers. Though the concepts of color and opposites are not new to toddler books, Deneux has a way of using color and subject "caged" and "free" to make the ideas more interesting and pretty. $14.99 from Chronicle Books. Love.
Just a heads up, Chronicle Books sent me this series to take for a test drive. As always, all opinions are my own. xo, Heather
