I met Catalina at the park last Spring. Our kids are school friends and we got to chatting as you do. I noticed that she always wore a hat or a pretty head scarf, but I guess it didn't occur to me that it was anything more than a fashion choice until she told me that at the age of 31 she had been diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer.

After undergoing chemo, Catalina's hair had gradually fallen out and she shaved her head.

Fast forward several months, she's doing well, having had surgery, in the midst of radiation, and finishing up her recovery time off from work as an RN. She's started a blog to document her journey, and she's received some reader requests for a tutorial on how she fashions her pretty head scarf into a braided crown. In a world of Pinterest braid and bun tutorials, there's not much for a girl with no hair. So this past week we teamed up to shoot a little tutorial/video for her blog, and I'm sharing it here today as well in hopes that this can be of help to someone out there in need of this unique fashion tip. Please stop by Catalina's blog Reflections to learn more about her journey.

And here's a picture tutorial to pin...
